A key part of every Ashley Williams Soccer Camp is telling the children about the importance of healthy eating, which are key factors for a professional sports person.
After the August 2012 camp in Swansea, Ashley and the coaches from the camp visited a local restaurant in Swansea to provide some examples of the healthy eating options available, such as pasta and salad.
Here is an article from the South Wales Evening Post talking about the visit…
Swans and Wales soccer star Ashley Williams has helped teach the next generation of players the importance of a good diet.
The player took members of the Ashley Williams Soccer Camp to Chiquito’s Mexican restaurant in Swansea to put into practice their healthy eating studies in the classroom.
Organiser Tyrell Simpson said: “We always hold a healthy eating course to show the youngsters what professional football players eat before and after a game.
“We contacted the restaurant and asked if they would be willing to help us promote healthy eating and to put on pasta and salads for us.
“We gave out healthy eating leaflets and held a quiz and the children really took the message onboard. Afterwards the feedback from parents was really good and that’s important.”
